Milk and Honey - a devotional poem to Belatucadrus, the Shining One.

Sunshine

Shining sparingly

Withering winds of

Winter. Cows without calves

Giamos’ grasping grip begins to loosen, brisk breezes brush borders

-

Guardian

Horned harrier

Waits at walls

Spear and shield ready

Watching wards as the wind warms, grass wakes slowly

-

Birth

Begins busily

Cows calve carefully

Wealth of the tribe

Stone barn shielding young from final withering winter winds

-

Spring

Shepherded softly

Fair Warrior welcomes

The time of shoots

Milk and honey flows freely, guarded by the horned God

-

Sunshine

Glowing brightly

Life lifting leisurely

Warming waters flowing fast

Spring has sprung, bull horned God prepares for border battles

-

Emerging

From stone

Mother and child

Sunlight shepherding cautious cattle

First dew of spring sitting gently on grass, calves growing

-

Shouts

Of raid

Spears and shields

Ready restlessly for raiders

Fair Warrior waits patiently protecting the tribes prosperity

-

Fight

Quick clash

Herding the herd

Scared cows and calves

Defiant defence against raiders, fair one harries harassers without end

-

Chase

Rebuff raiders

Shaking spears, shields

Cows and calves safe

Milk and honey flows freely, given in tribute to Him

-

Joy

Summer sunshine

Cows and calves

Fattened from green grass

Fair Warrior gives so the tribe may give

-
