Giamolitus/Winters Feast.

Giamolitus is the Winter Feast, which takes place on the full moon nearest to the winter solstice. In  Bessus Berôs etic Drôs, we see this îuos as a feast in honour of the sacrifice given by Tarvos Trigaranos, facilitated by Esus, the divine woodsman. Giamolitus is when Tarvos Trigaranos and Drus’ soul are flown to Dubnos by the cranes, with their way illuminated by the light of the full moon, Argiâ. We honour the sacrifices of Tarvos, Drus and Esus and pray for a swift spring return.

Ritual for Giamolitus

[light candle, fire]

Beneath the full light of Argiâ

Cranes carry precious cargo

To the dark depths of Dubnos

This night we feast in Their honour

In honour of the sacrifice made by those that maintain the cycles

Tarvos Trigaranos, you who defend Drus

And give your life to maintain your charge

We give you praise and worship this night

[Give offering]

To you Esus, the divine woodsman

Who through your act

Maintains the cycles of seasons

You do the deed none want to do

We honour you for your deed

[Give offering]

And to you Drus

You who are the very world itself

We pray that under the guided hand of Esus

You will sprout anew in Spring

Fed by the sacrifice of Tarvos, he who defends you

We give this offering in honour of you

[Give offering]

And in honour of these sacrifices

We feast with family, friends and ancestors

Praise to Tarvos Trigaranos

Praise to Esus

Praise to Drus

Thanks to you all

A good Giamolitus to all.
